Download the papers
Each paper is a print-ready A4 PDF with a time limit and clear instructions on the front, just like the real test. Papers download with no sign up. Answer sheets are free with a free account, and every download opens in a new tab so you never lose your place. Print the paper first, and keep the answer sheet to mark together afterwards.
11 Plus Maths Papers
Multiple choice papers across the Key Stage 2 topics that grammar school tests lean on: arithmetic, fractions, percentages, ratio, algebra, sequences, angles, area and volume, time, money and multi-step word problems. The written paper drops the multiple choice and expects working, like the second stage tests at selective schools.
11 Plus English Papers
Each multiple choice paper has an original comprehension passage, a story or information text written for WAJD, with questions on retrieval, inference and vocabulary, followed by spelling, punctuation and grammar. The writing paper is a one hour extended task with a marking guide for parents, like the second stage tests at selective schools.
11 Plus Verbal Reasoning Papers
Six classic question types with six questions each: letter series, letter codes, hidden words, closest in meaning, odd one out and number series. The printed alphabet helper matches the real test. Used by GL regions; the Sutton SET does not test reasoning.
11 Plus Non-Verbal Reasoning Papers
Picture questions with clear printed figures: complete the series, odd one out, complete the grid and turning shapes, including the mirror image traps the real test loves. Used by GL regions; the Sutton SET does not test reasoning.
Preparing for the Sutton grammar schools?
Applying to Wilson's School, Sutton Grammar, Wallington or the other Sutton area schools? Their first stage is the Selective Eligibility Test, two multiple choice papers in English and maths only, with no reasoning sections, and the schools publish no past papers at all. Our multiple choice maths and English papers above are ideal SET practice. For the second stage, which uses written papers rather than multiple choice, use the Maths Written Paper and the English Writing Paper: they mirror that format, working shown and one extended piece of writing. All WAJD papers are original, so your child never wastes time on questions they might meet again in the real test.
How to use a practice paper well
- Print the paper and find a quiet spot. Set a timer for the minutes shown on the front.
- Let your child work alone, in one sitting, circling answers on the paper itself.
- Mark it together with the answer sheet. Celebrate what went right first.
- For each wrong answer, read the explanation aloud and have your child rework the question.
- Come back to the tricky question types a few days later with our free targeted test and revision cards.
Why families use WAJD papers
These papers exist because getting hold of good practice material used to mean paying for it. Read the story behind them, and why a checked paper beats a chatbot's, in why we made our 11 Plus papers free.
Answers that teach
Every answer sheet explains the method in child-friendly words, so a wrong answer becomes a lesson rather than a lost mark.
Original and fair
All questions are written by WAJD Academy in the GL multiple choice style. Nothing is copied from real exams, so practice stays honest.

The papers download with no sign up, no ads and no card details, ever. One free account unlocks every answer sheet, now and as new sets arrive. Print as many copies as your family needs.

Every selective area also publishes official familiarisation material. Our free 11 Plus guide links you straight to the official source for your region, from GL Assessment and CSSE to AQE in Northern Ireland, and our past papers hub covers every exam board beyond the 11 Plus.
Questions parents ask
Are these 11 Plus exam papers really free?
Yes. Every paper is a free PDF download with no sign up and no ads. The answer sheets are free as well: create a free account, log in and they all unlock. No card details, ever. Print and share the papers freely for personal, non-commercial use.
Do the papers come with answers?
Yes. Each paper has a separate answer sheet that gives the correct letter for every question and a short explanation of how to work it out. Answer sheets are free to download once you are logged in to a free account.
What style are the papers written in?
Multiple choice with five options per question, in the style used by GL Assessment, the test provider for most selective areas. They are original WAJD Academy papers, not copies of any real exam.
Which subjects are covered?
All four 11 Plus subjects: maths, English comprehension with spelling, punctuation and grammar, verbal reasoning and non-verbal reasoning, plus a written maths paper and an extended writing paper in the second stage style. That is 341 questions and 4 writing tasks across 14 papers.
Are there papers for the Sutton schools, such as Wilson's?
Yes. The Sutton Selective Eligibility Test is multiple choice English and maths, so use our maths and English multiple choice papers for stage one. For the second stage, the Maths Written Paper and English Writing Paper mirror the written format those schools use. All of it is original WAJD material, since the Sutton schools publish no past papers.
How hard are the papers?
They sit at the level of a well-prepared Year 5 child. Each paper mixes gentle starters with the harder, multi-step questions that separate candidates in the real test.
Will there be more papers?
Yes. There are three full sets plus the two written papers so far, new papers are added free, and practising on WAJD Academy with a free account unlocks targeted tests that adapt to your child's weak areas.
