Built by a parent, for his own children first

Good learning had quietly become something you buy. We did not think a child's understanding should depend on what a family can afford, so we built the thing we wanted for our own children and left the door open for everyone else.

Pixel the Sharer, a WAJD Academy crew member

The story

It started at a kitchen table. One child stuck on a topic, one parent who could see exactly what was missing, and a shelf of revision sites that either wanted a card number or threw a wall of text at a tired eleven year old.

So we built something else. We took what is actually known about how memory works, retrieval practice, spaced repetition, seeing an idea instead of reading about it, and we made it into a library a child would willingly open. Then we made the whole thing free, because the children who need it most are the least likely to be able to pay for it.

WAJD Academy now covers 11 Plus, GCSE and A Level in maths, the sciences and English, matched to every major UK exam board. It is used by families who home educate, by parents topping up school, and by students revising on their own at midnight.

What we believe

Four things we will not compromise on

These are the decisions we made early and have never regretted.

Understanding beats memorising

A child who has seen how something works can rebuild it under pressure. A child who memorised it cannot. We teach for the first one.

Isaac, The Thinker

Progress is grown, not rushed

We start where your child actually is, not where a year group says they should be, and we build from there without shame.

Sprout, The Grower

Parents deserve the truth

One honest weekly summary of what improved and what did not. No dashboards designed to flatter, no vanity numbers.

Theo, The Guide

Children are never the product

No cameras watching your child, no emotion tracking, no selling of data. Ever. The account belongs to the parent and the record belongs to the family.

Layla, The Librarian

What stays free, always

Not a trial. Not a teaser with the good parts locked. The library itself is free and is going to stay that way.

The whole library Every course, lesson, quiz and practice question, from KS2 through A Level.
The tools that do the work Visual Lab, Active Recall, the STEM Arcade and past papers for every major board.
Knowing where you stand The placement assessment, the progress dashboard and the weekly parent email.
