Forces & Motion

Newton's second law in action: the resultant force on an object equals its mass times its acceleration (F = m × a).

Acceleration
Balanced forces (resultant of zero) mean no change in motion: the object stays still or keeps a constant velocity. Unbalanced forces cause acceleration in the direction of the resultant. Increase the mass and the same force gives less acceleration.
